About Me
About Me
My name is Sarah Michal Hamid and I believe that pregnancy is a normal, natural and beautiful part of life.
I have been a full spectrum doula for 5 years. I became a doula because I love supporting families throughout pregnancy and believe that every community deserves a doula. I support my families in exploring their options, desires, and hopes so that they can thrive.
I became a Full Spectrum Doula through the Birthworkers of Color Collective Full Spectrum Doula Training in 2021. I then took the Advanced Full Spectrum Doula training through the Birthworkers of Color Collective in 2022.
I hold a Bachelors of Arts in Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies & a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies: Sustainability from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
Raised in South Asian & Jewish communities, I often integrate my cultural practices in my doula support.
I first became a trained full spectrum doula through the Birthworkers of Color Collective. Here I learned the foundations of doula support, physiology of pregnancy, birth and postpartum, and cultural and traditional practices to support people during their pregnancies.
After I became a trained full spectrum doula, I joined the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Hawai'i Community, where I supported moms and families during their pregnancies, birth, and postpartum.
This program helped match me with clients who needed prenatal, birth, and postpartum doula support.
After serving as a Community Doula at the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Hawai'i for a year and graduating from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, I moved back to Los Angeles and began my doula business Tales of a Dai Doula Services.
I currently provide birth & postpartum doula support through Tales of a Dai Doula Services.
Additionally, I am a student midwife at the National College of Midwifery, and I currently work at Friends & Family Midwifery. I look forward to continuing to support families in the future as a Licensed Midwife.
